Sigma Beauty Affiliated Program Denied My Application Of 30,000 Page views a Month and Approves Someone on Youtube with 500 Views.

So last night I applied to be in the Sigma Beauty affiliated program so that I could add their links on my blog which will direct my readers to their site. This morning I checked my email and I was denied for no particular reason stated, just a general message.

Now, let me first say that the application process is just ridiculous, and not necessary. Companies like Amazon grow so fast because there isn't an approval process in order for them to assign you a direct link from your blog. Apparently Sigma Beauty wants to make sure that you abide to all of their rules before promoting their company and want to make sure that their link is not used as a scam or bait and switch on the internet which will give them a bad name. Sure, Sigma you guys have a point there, but when you place an ad on Google for your company, do you know where all the ads are going ? Do you have a single clue where your ad might end up ? No you don't, and nor does it matter because at the end of the day, someone came from somewhere and shopped on your site!

Also let's take a brief moment to talk about all the youtubers you have approved to be affiliated with your company. Okay so you have approved this girl who gets maybe 500 views a month on a youtube channel, and hoping that this a good business strategy because Youtube is a good place to get your products known right? Sure Sigma, you got another point there, because apparently you think that as long as they have a youtube channel that talks about makeup and beauty related stuff then they would be a good fit for your company. So tell me why if my blog is about Youtubers, and people who search for youtubers are probably the same exact audience you guys are targeting in the first place, and plus I get 30,000 page view a month and growing, that you would deny my application.

So let me tell you a few reasons why you guys made a big mistake denying my application.

1) You deny my application because I do not blog about makeup on my channel, instead I blog about the youtubers that talk about makeup and beauty in their video, which I assume if I'm getting a page view, it's because they are fans of that youtuber. Correct me if I'm wrong, if people like to watch Dulce Candy for instance on her channel and probably would most likely buy whatever she says in her videos, so why is that any different than someone reading my blog who is a fan of Dulce Candy and also other youtubers and maybe they decided to click on your ad to buy something from your company.

2) You deny my application because you approve Youtubers much faster BEACAUSE you think they might have a bigger social influence. Again why you guys are wrong, I am a Youtuber! But I initially applied using my blog which I believe is the best strategy for your company because readers of my blog currently click on my google ads, and probably will be interested in clicking on Sigma Beauty if there is some sort of attractive link from your company. I certainly could of applied with my Youtube channel, because my Youtube channel is currently growing at a very fast pace with 1,000+ subscribers a month, and that number will eventually double and triple than what it is now. NOW, I have no desire to work with your company, and no desire to even be apart of the 15% affiliated program you guys offer which isn't anything special in the first place.

3) My blog is growing so fast, I am estimating the amount of people reading my blogs will double and triple in the next couple of months, and there are plenty of readers on my blog who are interested in beauty and makeup related products because they are reading about the same people who talk about them on their channel. I will be reaching 1 million page views by the end of next year, and that amount will only double each year if not triple. So Sigma Beauty, thank you for denying a perfectly good opportunity for your company and instead choose someone with a Youtube channel but only have 500 views. Not to mention my Youtube channel is way bigger and better, and yes I am also a beauty guru talking about makeup and all that great stuff you think that does good for your company, but in the future when my Channel reach over 1 million subscribers and it will, don't even think about approaching me at an event and ask for me to be an affiliated partner!!

My final Thoughts
This whole process has made me so sour about your company and your affiliated program, and I do not wish to be apart of your company or be affiliated with you guys. Your application process makes people feel like they are applying for a job and it should be an equal business opportunity for both. You should have the respect to tell someone why they are denied and the reasons behind your denial, and perhaps have a real person reach out to us and ask us additional questions before you simply send out an automated email.

Companies like Amazon will continue to grow bigger and better because they know every person, small or big , writing whatever on their website will still bring in business. At the end of the day, you should only care about who is willing to buy your products and not care about where they live, who they are, and where they just walked in from. If you have a physical store, would you care to know where that person came from ? Or do you just care how much they spend at your store.

Also maybe you have no idea about how business diversification works. Well let me explain to you guys because apparently the business management company you guys have just doesn't get it. You can approve a bunch of Youtubers that talk about makeup and beauty products because that's just a given, but are you diversifying your portfolio to also include maybe someone like me who blog about Youtubers, which will then help you guys reach millions of fans of a wide range of youtubers that you might not even be affiliated with ???

Thank you for denying me because now I don't have to put your stupid link on my channel or my blog and I don't have to abide to your millions of rules to just put your stupid ad on my site. By the way if you guys don't know how Sigma Beauty affiliated program works, they have a ton of rules on how they wish to be advertised, maybe you should pay these affiliated partners a salary because you are treating them as an employee and not a business partner.

Thank you, I'm so not interested ! And I WILL TALK ABOUT YOU GUYS AND THIS EXPERIENCE WHEN MY YOUTUBE HITS 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS and WARN PEOPLE OF YOUR STUPIDITY.
